Web developers often have to test their web application by editing host files. For this purpose, the /etc/hosts files can be edited in Linux and c:\ windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in Windows, but if we want to open sites with such custom domain names in local area network through Android phone they don’t open. HostsGo is an Android application with which we can edit host files of Android and open any site in mobile with a custom domain located in the local area network on mobile. It is a very useful app for web developers for testing their web applications.

When you start it, following screen will come in front of you. Enable the Hosts Change Switch. And click in the host editor.

Type the IP address and domain name by clicking the + button in the host editor.

Now click on the add domain button. Go to the homepage of the app and click on the “Start” button.

Now try opening that custom domain on your Android phone. It will open.

You can also use HostsGo to setup parental control over the phone. If you want your children to not open certain sites, then you can block those sites through host editor of this app on android phone. We can also set hostgo to auto-start. So, this app will start running as soon as the phone turns on.
